If you’ve connected www.yourdomain.com to your Paperbell website<\/a>, there’s one more step we recommend: make sure yourdomain.com works too. That way, visitors reach your Paperbell website whether or not they type in the www first.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before you get started<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This guide assumes you’ve already connected www.yourdomain.com to Paperbell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you haven’t done that yet, start here: Connect your custom domain to Paperbell <\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you already have another website at yourdomain.com, don’t follow this guide<\/strong>. Redirecting your domain would send visitors away from your existing website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Instead, you can use a subdomain such as coaching.yourdomain.com for Paperbell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why do I need a redirect?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

yourdomain.com and www.yourdomain.com are technically two different addresses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Connecting www.yourdomain.com<\/a> to Paperbell doesn’t automatically make yourdomain.com<\/a> work too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A redirect<\/strong> solves this by automatically sending anyone who visits yourdomain.com to your Paperbell website at www.yourdomain.com.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We’ll use a free service called Redirect.pizza<\/strong><\/a> to set this up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 1: Create your redirect in Redirect.pizza<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Go to Redirect.pizza<\/strong><\/a> and create an account (it\u2019s free).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Create a new redirect using the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Source:<\/strong> yourdomain.com<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Destination:<\/strong> https:\/\/www.yourdomain.com<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Replace yourdomain.com with your own domain name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For example, if your Paperbell website is: www.janecoaching.com<\/a> you\u2019ll redirect like so: janecoaching.com \u2192 https:\/\/www.janecoaching.com<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Follow the prompts in Redirect.pizza to create a permanent (301) redirect.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 2: Find the DNS records provided by Redirect.pizza<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Once you’ve created your redirect, Redirect.pizza will show you the DNS record you need to add at your domain host. Keep this page open. You’ll need to copy the information shown there into your domain provider’s DNS settings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Use the DNS values shown in your Redirect.pizza account rather than copying DNS values from another website or guide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 3: Add the Redirect.pizza A record<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Sign in to the company where your domain’s DNS is managed and add the A record provided by Redirect.pizza.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The @ represents your domain without www. Use the exact IP address shown in your Redirect.pizza account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
