Paperbell is a website builder and business management platform for coaches. It combines a coaching website with scheduling, payments, contracts, and client management in one account. The company was founded in 2020 by Laura Roeder and Chris Williams, and is registered in England as Charlotte Corrigan Limited.[1][2] As of 2026, more than 5,000 coaches use Paperbell, and the platform has processed more than US$47 million in coaching payments.[2]

History

Laura Roeder and her husband, Chris Williams, started Paperbell in 2020, and it launched that spring.[3][4] Roeder and Williams had previously co-founded MeetEdgar, a social media automation tool, in 2014.[3]

At the end of 2021, they sold MeetEdgar to SureSwift and focused full time on Paperbell.[5] Paperbell has never taken outside investment. The company crossed US$1 million in annual recurring revenue in 2024.[6]

The company operates with a fully remote, asynchronous team.[6]

Products and features

Paperbell is built for independent coaches. Its main product is a coaching website, which connects to Paperbell’s booking, payment, and client management tools. Features include:

  • Website builder: a coaching website with a landing page for each coaching package, on a paperbell.me address or the coach’s own domain
  • Scheduling: clients book from the coach’s availability, synced with Google, Outlook, and Apple iCloud calendars
  • Payments: online checkout, payment plans, and monthly subscriptions, in many currencies including USD, GBP, EUR, CAD, AUD, and NZD
  • Contracts: clients sign the coach’s contract online at checkout
  • Coaching packages: one-to-one sessions, group coaching, and digital downloads
  • Client portal: clients book, reschedule, and access their materials, logging in with a one-time email code instead of a password
  • Surveys, private client notes, automated emails, and SMS appointment reminders

Paperbell integrates with Stripe, PayPal, Zoom, Google Meet, Google Calendar, Microsoft Outlook, Apple iCloud Calendar, and Dropbox Sign.[7]

Pricing

Paperbell offers a free account with no credit card required. Paid plans cost US$97 per month or US$970 per year and include unlimited clients and packages.[8] Paperbell does not take a percentage of coaches’ sales; Stripe and PayPal charge their standard processing fees.[10]

Reception

Paperbell has a rating of 4.7 out of 5 on Capterra and received Capterra’s Best Value award in 2025.[9]

Founders

Laura Roeder is from Austin, Texas. Before Paperbell, she founded LKR Social Media in 2009 and co-founded MeetEdgar in 2014. She has spoken about entrepreneurship at the White House and writes about bootstrapping software companies without investors.[3]
